    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the approval of the nominees in this list. Most of us who come from areas where the police are seen as enemies of the people know what it is to have an oversight authority that one can complain to. I remember one time when I was still at the university, I was caught by a police officer and I thought it was done wrongly. I said: ‘We are the taxpayers. Why should this happen to us?’ He told me: “Please, do not pay me this month”. That is how these people were. Some police officers were talking to some boda bodas operators on Thika Road this morning when this Motion was tabled in this House. They were taking money and a lady was taking photographs of the same. The same lady was mishandled and thrown to the back of a police car in full view of the cameras for taking their photographs.
