"content": "I want to add my voice to that of the Leader of the Minority Party. What is the purpose of the Political Parties Fund? The Leader of the Minority Party should not worry. I am supporting what he has raised in a very able way. The Political Parties Fund is money that is supposed to help in promoting representation in Parliament and county assemblies, women, persons with disability, youth, ethnic minorities and other marginalised communities, and also to ensure active participation of individual citizens in political life and do civic education on the various issues. I have looked at all the purposes of this Fund and it is clear to me that it has not been used for the particular purposes. For the longest time I have been in this House, especially within the life that this Fund has been operational, I have never seen us called by the party, other than just a normal Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting, to be talked to about critical issues that are coming before the House and to get an awareness on what is critical and why we need to support it. Here, I am not talking about the party leader calling us. I am talking about the party itself The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
