Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am happy that we now have a new process in the removal of a county assembly speaker, away from the hooliganism we have been witnessing across county assemblies. We thought that by elevating former councillors to Members of County Assemblies and paying them more their mannerisms would change, but we can only do so much. It is hoped that in due process, we will protect the institutions we create so that county assembly speakers do not just get removed at the whim of a few chaps sitting in a corner and saying that a speaker has not approved their allowances to go for a trip so they must remove him or her. Now there is due process that will ensure the speaker has time to respond to accusation in public so that people who voted for the Members of a County Assembly see whether there is justification in the issues brought forward."
