    "content": "I am saddened that nobody, neither the President nor the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and urban Development, has condemned it. That tells us that as a country, we are headed for hard times ahead. I sit in the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing. Unfortunately, my Chairman is not here. As a Committee, we have summoned the Inspector-General of Police in the last three or four meetings to appear before the Committee to explain, but he has always failed to turn up without any proper explanation. In the interest of time, I would like to say that we do not have a shortage of regulations or policies in as far as road transport is concerned. All we have is carelessness and lack of attention. Maybe, the lives of the poor people are not important. Therefore, let us declare road carnage a national disaster. Thank you."
