"content": "(Sen. (Prof.) Kindiki): Hon. Senators, I have a Communication to make regarding the grisly road accident that occurred at Fort Ternan on 10th October, 2018. Hon. Senators, on the morning of 10th October, 2018, Kenyans woke up to very sad news on the demise of 56 persons in a bus accident at Fort Ternan, Kericho County after a bus destined for Kakamega from Nairobi rolled several times. The matter of numerous road accidents in the country is worrying. As leaders, we urge the relevant Government agencies to work with speed to ensure that no more Kenyan lives are lost on our roads. On behalf of the Senate and my own behalf, I wish to send a message of condolences to the families of the departed and wish those injured quick recovery. I thank you. Hon. Senators, I know this is quite a difficult matter because the country is still mourning. I will give the first chance to Sen. Moses Wetangula and then Sen. (Dr.) Langat, who had also approached me with a view of trying to bring this matter up in some form of debate. However, because we are constrained for time, I will give a few Members of the House an opportunity to make a few comments and send their condolences, so that we can also attend to other issues in today’s Order Paper. Sen. Wetangula."
