    "content": "The Committee equally wrote to the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry seeking policy direction on issues surrounding the inquiry and touching on the mandate of the two ministries. The Committee also undertook a site visit to Athi River to assess the extent of pollution by the distillery company. During the inquiry on the subject matter, the Committee was guided by the Environment Management and Co-ordination Act, 1999 and the following regulations which are anchored in the Act:"
