Members, the Petitioner therefore prays that the National Assembly: (i) causes investigations into the matter with a view of establishing the reasons for the failure by the Office of the Attorney General and Inspector General of Police to deter the circulation and regulate the activities of the Citizen Newspaper; and, (ii) recommends the steps which will be taken to resolve this matter. Hon. Members, this Petition, therefore, stands committed to the Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation for consideration. The Committee is requested to consider the Petition and report its findings to the House and Petitioner in accordance to Standing Order No. 227(2)."
