"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this important Bill. At the outset, the Bill is timely and I would like to thank the Senate for coming up with it. For us, we will always endeavour to support what benefits Kenyans. Our population is continuously increasing. As we increase in population, manyattas and villages will be turned into towns. The more we turn a bigger chunk of our land mass into some small towns, cities and villages, the more farming areas shrink. In developed countries, cities and urban areas are controlled so that a majority of the population can live in urban centres and leave some large chunk of land for farming. Let me give you a scenario we are in now. If you subdivide Central Kenya to each individual born there, each person may get only a quarter of an acre.
