Speaker, the Bill seeks to further amend the Physiotherapists Act No. 20 of 2014 to provide for the Council to determine the professional competency and standards necessary for the training of physiotherapists. The Bill also seeks to provide for the inclusion of a representative from the Ministry of Health, the director of physiotherapists services and a person with financial expertise to be part of the Physiotherapists Council. The Bill also proposes to amend the Health Records and Information Managers Act No. 15 of 2016, so as to define in greater certainty the scope of their practice. The Bill also proposes to amend the Clinical Officers (Training, Registration and Licensing) Act No. 20 of 2017 to introduce new provisions to streamline the licensing of clinical officers in private practice."
