    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 48 to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Tourism, Trade and Industrialization concerning the state of the East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC). In the Statement, the Committee should explain the following- (1) What factors led to the near collapse of the EAPCC? (2) What action is being taken to save this giant state corporation from total collapse? (3) How much money is required to resuscitate the loss making Company which is a big industry given that part of the national Government‟s four agenda is to spur industrialization? (4) Why has the Company failed to remit NHIF and any other statutory deductions even after deducting from the employees‟ salaries?
