    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as I speak as the Assistant Minister for Agriculture, I am in consultation with my Minister. All I am aware of is the price of Kshs1,500 which is way above the market price of Kshs800. This is because the farmers are fetching Kshs800 per bag now but the Government has gone out of its way to offer Kshs1,500 per bag of maize. I am aware there is a Cabinet meeting which will take place tomorrow. I have read in the media that the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs will table this issue so that we can get a Cabinet position on pricing. It is not upon the Minister for Agriculture to determine the price of maize. As at now, the price is Kshs1,500 per bag of maize. Anything else is a political pricing."
