Senators, the third message is on the passage of the Land Value Index Laws (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.3 of 2018). “Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Orders 41(1) and 142 of the National Assembly Standing Orders, I hereby convey the following message from the National Assembly:- WHEREAS, the Land Value Index Laws (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.3 of 2018) was published vide Kenya Gazette Supplement No.9 of 12th February, 2018, as a Bill concerning county governments proposing to amend the Land Act, the Land Registration Act and Prevention, Protection and Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons and Affected Communities Act and to provide for the assessment of land value index in respect of compulsory acquisition of land; AND WHEREAS the National Assembly considered and passed the said Bill on Wednesday, 8th August, 2018 with amendments in the form attached hereto; NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with the provisions of Article 110(4) of the Constitution and Standing Order 142 of the National Assembly Standing Orders, I hereby refer the said Bill to the Senate for consideration”.
