Temporary Deputy Chairman, this particular amendment was suggested during public participation where the stakeholders in this field including the operators, players and teams sponsored, which include Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards. They appeared before our Committee and said that in the current situation, they receive very little support caused by punitive tax. Currently, most of the operators are moving outside Kenya and will be able to operate there and Kenyans will continue to play and the country will lose taxes."
