    "content": "I encourage this House to, instead of lamenting, support the proposed amendment that Hon. Junet will bring so that we completely remove petroleum products from the VAT bracket. Let IMF say what it wants. We are not working for the IMF. We are employed by the people of Kenya. If the people of Kenya think they are suffering, we will respond to their suffering. The effect of VAT is to increase the prices of almost every commodity in this country. It is something we should not allow. Thank you, Hon. Speaker."
