"content": "ones who want to go and do driving for a few days – maybe, two weeks, and end up being given a driving job, which is a huge responsibility. The other issue, of course, is the condition of our roads. The roads that we drive on have issues. Contractors do not always do a good job. Many times, you find chippings and skiddy roads. The other issue is the condition of vehicles. It is important that we address these issues, as a nation. I ask my colleagues not to crucify school transport unnecessarily because we are not very sure about what exactly happened. We do not want to start saying it was the driver or the school. It is important that we just say it was an accident. We will get a report on exactly what happened. On the issue of time, which people keep talking about, time does not cause accidents. If you drive past 6.00 p.m., it does not mean that you will have an accident. We need to address these issues. We know that even our children in Nairobi sometimes go to school past 6.00 p.m. or 7.00 p.m. because of traffic jam. This is something that needs to be addressed."
