"content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to request for a Statement. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Pursuant to Standing Order 46(2)(a), I rise to issue a Statement on the death of eleven rhinos that were translocated from Lake Nakuru and Nairobi National Parks to Tsavo East National Park. As you may be aware, black rhinos are the most endangered wild animals in Kenya today. According to statistics, there are only about 700 black rhinos in the country and the number keeps on decreasing day by day. The question that begs to be answered is: Did the Government through its agency, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), in resolving to translocate the 11 black rhinos from Nairobi and Lake Nakuru National Parks to Tsavo East National Park, The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
