Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, from the reports in the public domain, it appears that this was not properly planned, hence it failed miserably and resulted to the deaths of the animals. Since the death of the animals, many theories have been adduced to try and explain the cause of the death. Some experts claim that the relocation which covers the entire process from planning, transfer, release, monitoring and post-release management of the animals was not carefully executed. Others claim that lack of careful analysis of environmental and ecological factors is to be blamed, while others claim that the type of species of the rhinos was not adaptable to the new habitat."
