    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rose to support this Petition because agriculture is the backbone of this country. Hawking is just a smaller issue in the bigger problem. First of all, the Committee that will be tasked to look into issues raised here should find out why people have resorted to such kind of thing. It could be because there is no system to ensure that farmers have returns to motivate them to continue growing whatever crops they grow. Secondly, it could be that this is a country of marketeering. Anybody can come here and do whatever they wish because we do not have proper regulations. I may not know how to plan, but if Kenya did agriculture right by having a system that rewards, for example, sugarcane farmers in western Kenya, maize and wheat farmers in Eldoret and Narok and coffee and tea farmers in the former central province, and all other products, this country would be better."
