    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, early this week, we had a meeting with members of the Committee on Energy. The Chairman of Kenya Pipeline Company came before us and thanked the Senate. This is because I remember towards the tail end of last Parliament, there was the issue of the Line Five Pipeline that is being constructed from Mombasa to Kisumu. There were challenges of variation where the contractor has raised an additional figure of Kshs10 billion. The institution was going to pay were it not for the intervention of the Committee on Energy. They thanked us because to date, because of the orders that we gave in that Committee, taxpayers did not lose even a single shilling."
