Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government: (a) When is the deadline for acquisition of the new generation national passport, popularly referred to as the “e-passport”? (b) Is the Cabinet Secretary aware that there are many Kenyan students in foreign countries, including over 500 students studying in Turkey, who might not be in a position to travel back to the country for the purpose of acquiring the said passports? (c) Could the Ministry consider facilitating all Kenyan embassies, including Kenyan Embassy in Istanbul, Turkey, to enable them issue the said passports?"
