    "content": "When we start having challenges of funding political parties, or when we leave it to the National Treasury to decide how much money they can allocate to political parties, we will be doing a disservice to this country. It is important to understand that when public funds are used to fund a political establishment then you are allowing for public scrutiny of the operations of that institution. It is important for the Government to understand that for purposes of transparency, we need to get this money going into political parties as it has been constitutionally mandated. We need the percentage that is in the Constitution to be going to political parties. We are not going to grow our democracy as a country if we do not fund political parties. We are not going to create institutions beyond political parties if we do not learn how to institutionalise the political processes of our country."
