    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for being open. First, farmers in the North Rift supplied maize to the NCPB last year in November, and payment of the same was done as late as June/July, this year. Our farmers rely on the proceeds from the sale of their produce to do farming; they plough it back in the next season. This year, most farmers in the country did not plant maize because they did not have money to use due to the delay by the NCPB. What mechanisms has the Ministry put in place to ensure that in this year, farmers will not supply their maize and wait for another six months before they are paid? Can the Assistant Minister give an assurance to the farmers of this nation?"
