    "content": "The Committee’s amendment seeks to delete the proposed amendment through the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2018, since the amendment will eliminate the requirement for the Registrar of Persons to issue an identity card within 30 days of an application. Also, the amendment appears to arbitrarily deny a person the right to be registered as a citizen by birth, contrary to Articles 12, 14 and 15 of the Constitution. The Committee proposes to delete the amendment."
