"content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) Kenya is party to the Brussels Convention. This is an international convention on the control of the trans-boundary movement of hazardous wastes and their disposal, which was domesticated through gazettement of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, also known as the Waste Management Regulation, 2006. Mr. Speaker, Sir, E-waste is an emerging environmental concern considered as hazardous due to harmful effects of the contents of electrical and electronic equipment. The Waste Management Regulations, 2006 apply to various hazardous substances and my Ministry further collaborated with other stakeholders and has developed an E-Waste guideline that will cater for collection, transportation, storage, dismantling, recycling and establishment of a treatment facility for the E-waste."
