I beg to ask Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development: a) Is the Cabinet Secretary aware that all the roads and bridges in Tharaka Nithi County are in a bad state, with huge potholes and bridges have no guard-rails which have led to over 20 accidents in the last one year? b) What measures is the Ministry putting in place to ensure that roads on the Tharaka Nithi Highway are repaired and maintained, including construction of guard-rails on the bridges? c) Could the Ministry consider compensating victims of road accidents that are as result of poor maintenance of roads and bridges in Tharaka Nithi County?
