    "content": "In each of those sessions, whether it was in Kisii, Kericho, Bomet, Murang’a or Nyeri counties, we could tell our tea farmers are a worried lot. For a long time, tea was considered to be the green gold of this Republic. Many of its farmers were well-to-do people. They could easily feed their children and pay school fees for them without much struggle. However, this sector has been neglected for a long period of time. Currently, our farmers are extremely desperate. Even we, as their leaders, were unable to answer some of the questions they asked us. We asked them to share with us their proposals which they thought would revive this sector. In our considered view, we, as a Committee, strongly believe we will be able to streamline the challenges bedeviling this sector."
