    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Petitions considered by the Committee are quite a number. One is by members of the Abasuba Community from Western Kenya on the protection of the Abasuba language, culture and heritage. It was a very interesting Petition. It is also interesting that none of the Senators from that community seemed enthusiastic which shows the challenge the community is facing with their language and assimilation mainly by the Luo community of this country. We recommended the development of a comprehensive policy that takes into consideration stakeholders input that promote indigenous cultures and languages, independent of education system in extra-curricular settings as the Constitution aspires."
