(a) I am aware that the shoulders of the road failed during construction on some sections of Nyahururu-Gilgil Road due to usage of mixed nitrate gravel and not because of the red soil excavated from the side of the road. (b) The contractor has been stopped from using the gravel and was instructed to remedy the defected areas and, at the same time, use materials with the specifications as allowed by the Ministry."
