    "content": "(Sen. (Prof.) Kindiki): Colleagues, there was another matter which was raised privately by the Senator for Narok County when he approached the Chair and he requested me to clarify. Under the new Standing Orders that we are using at the moment, unlike in the past, Statements do not lapse with the Session because they are handled by Committees. So, you can pursue Statements with the Committees. The only gap which will be there in terms of time is when Committees are not able to meet on the dates which I have given for obvious reasons. People need to have Christmas, including our very hardworking staff who have supported these Committees all this time. They need to be with their families and take their annual leave. Otherwise, Statements do not lapse with the Session, they continue with the Committees in perpetuity. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
