    "content": "The first runners-up of the presidential election should be automatic Members of the Senate; and then the other one should go to the National Assembly. Another thing that should also give status to this office of the Senator and the Senate is that all retiring Presidents, when they finish their two terms should automatically become ex-officio members of the Senate. They should become Senators. By the way, I am against doing away with term limits. That way, we will be aping what is happening in the House of Lords in the United Kingdom (UK) and even near home in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where Hon. Kabila is going to be a Member of the Senate. That way, there is perpetuation and we can see statesmen who can give authentic wisdom and guidance to this House of revision. That way, we shall then ensure that, indeed, we do not have the misnomer where we are a Senate that is undermined by the National Assembly."
