    "content": "(1) The Cabinet Secretary shall, on the recommendation of the Board of Directors, appoint a Director-General who shall be the chief executive of the Authority and shall, subject to the directions of the Board, be responsible for the day to day management of the Authority. (2) The Cabinet Secretary shall appoint the Director-General from a list of three names of persons submitted by the Board of Directors after a competitive selection process. (3) A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Director- General if such person— (a) is a citizen of Kenya; (b) holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya in the fields of— (i) petroleum geosciences; (ii) petroleum engineering; (iii) petroleum economics; (iv) finance; or (v) petroleum law. (c) has at least seven years relevant professional experience; (d) is a member in good standing of the relevance professional association: and (e) meets the requirements set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution. (4) The Director-General shall hold office for a term of three years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one further term of three years. (5) The Director-General shall be the secretary to the Board of Directors but shall have no right to vote at any meetings of the Board of Directors. Madam Temporary Chairperson, I ask Sen.
