We have known chief justices who used to be directed by the Executive and were more executive than the Executive but they had the sense of decency and decorum of never appearing in political rallies. In fact, that has been the tradition of the House. The substantive Speaker is not here. I was in the House when Hon. Mati was the Speaker of the Kenya National Assembly. He made sure that he never appeared in a political rally because he was the head of an arm of Government. This is a point that I as a senior counsel must take to the Chief Justice because he is brining dishonour to the courts and that should never happen in a democratic constitutional country which has three arms of Government that are co-equal.
