"content": "What I find less attractive is the fact that we are dealing with complex subjects. Some of those who have raised them do not seem to appreciate the full manifestation of them. We are now in the Budget Policy Statement cycle. We have a good opportunity to discuss the level of liquidity that we think ought to prevail in this economy, as we go forward in the next year. That is within our reach as we discuss it now. If we will summon the Governor next week, I hope that issue on the level of interest rates and tightening of money flows which are affecting us, as ordinary citizens, will be discussed. What I think is unfortunate, coming from this House, is that nobody appreciates the near norm in the economy which we had. Money laundering was the norm of the day. Ordinary citizens were carrying millions of shillings in bags in a day. Money laundering was the order of the day. Nairobi had become a national centre for illicit transfers.
