Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is also instructive to note that the manufacturing sector continues to face challenges like shortage of capital, raw materials, skilled labour and inadequate access to finances in addition to a number of regulatory challenges. Competition in the services sector continues to be limited by factors such as high labour costs. Infrastructure projects continue to face delays in implementation, which in turn delays returns on investments. Sustaining an economic growth of higher than 6 per cent requires concerted efforts to enhance efficiency in the use of public resources. This calls for adoption of up-to-date technology and innovation and enhancement of labour productivity through tailor-made training as well as efficient implementation of budgets."
