    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to request for a Statement on the state of water and sewerage system in Nairobi City County. Pursuant to Standing Order No. 48 (1), I rise to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee Land, Environment and Natural Resources on the issue of water and sewerage system in Nairobi City County, with special focus on Mathare, Mihang’o in Utawala, Dagoretti Corner, Kangemi, Kawangware, Mukuru Kayaba, Mukuru kwa Reuben and Mukuru kwa Njenga areas. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the status of sewer lines within Nairobi City County with special focus on Mathare, Mihang’o in Utawala, Dagoretti Corner, Kangemi, Kawangware, Mukuru Kayaba, Mukuru kwa Reuben and Mukuru kwa Njenga areas. (2) Confirm whether residents of Nairobi City County are able to fully enjoy the right to clean water as stipulated in Article 43 (1) (d) of the Constitution of Kenya. (3) To elucidate the action being taken by the Nairobi City County government and the relevant agencies to ensure distribution of clean water in the county and also the measures being put in place to ensure the sewerage system is efficient and sustainable. Thank you."
