    "content": "Currently, Mr. Temporary Speaker Sir, there is a Bill before the National Assembly – I do not know how it went there - also on Own Source Revenue collection. I think they are trying to operationalize some part of Article 209 of the Constitution, for counties to collect Own Source Revenue. However, the National Treasury wants to control them so that anybody who wants proposes to levy some taxes or rates must give a 10 month’s notice to the National Treasury. That is also absurd, but when the Bill comes before this House, we will look at it. Thank you, Members of the Senate for your support. We want to make sure that the way the allocation to counties is done, and we are in agreement with the CoG, we will not agree with the National Treasury to reduce that figure. I commend the Commissioners of the CRA for a job well done. We will, therefore, stand our ground and, as a Committee, lead in that.
