    "content": "Section 4 of the Nurses Act provides for the membership of the Nursing Council of Kenya. The Bill initially provided for the deletion of Section 4 and its replacement with the New Section 4, which included the Director General of Health as a member of the Council, but the House deleted that proposal. The initial proposal in the Bill is in line with the current policy in respect of regulatory bodies in the health sector. For that reason, the President recommends the amendment of the proposed new section by inserting the new paragraph immediately after paragraph (i) that reads “the Director General of Health or a representative in writing by the Director General of Health” be a member. Thank you."
