    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this very important Motion. As I do that, I would like to join my colleagues in congratulating my sister, Hon. Ruweida for always being proactive and bringing issues that are important to the ordinary citizen of this country. Diabetes is one of the most chronic diseases affecting Kenya today. The prevalence of diabetes in Kenya has more than doubled in the last three decades, accounting for 20 per cent of deaths in this country. Today, one in every 17 Kenyans has diabetes. This situation is so alarming that there is need to set up prevention and treatment of this disease. Prevention and treatment can be achieved through regular screening and testing as proposed by Hon. Ruweida."
