    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 51(1) (a) to make a Statement relating to a matter for which the Committee is responsible. Mr. Speaker, Sir, on Tuesday, 12th March, 2019, Sen. Mohamed Faki, MP, made a Statement pursuant to Standing Order No. 47(1) on the issue regarding the County Assembly of Mombasa. In his Statement, the Senator stated that the County Assembly of Mombasa had invited three County Executive Committee (CEC) Members for a meeting by their respective committees, but instead the CEC Member issued threats to dissolve the county assembly claiming that they had failed in their mandate. This was considered as an act of intimidation of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) which prevented them from performing their oversight role. This matter was referred to the Senate Standing Committee on Devolved Government and The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
