    "content": "I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No. 48 to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. In the Statement, the Chairperson should:- (1) State whether he is aware that farmers in Kenya commonly use Roundup Herbicide in weeding their farms, yet it contains glyphosate, which is an active chemical ingredient which causes cancer. (2) Explain whether the Ministry, through the Pest Control Products Board, has done any research on the herbicide to caution farmers on the danger they are exposing themselves to with the continued use of the herbicide. (3) State whether preventive measures have been set to enable farmers have protective gear, since the World Health Organisation (WHO), on their latest research, indicates that the cancer of the windpipe is the top killer in Kenya, yet Roundup Herbicide contains glyphosate, which is carcinogenic to human beings.
