Temporary Deputy Speaker, as you are aware, women will not report cases of sexual assault or cases of rape to the police simply because of the way the police system is structured. It does not really have those structures. The police system does not treat women well when they go to report cases of gender-based violence. The police will start telling you to explain how rape happened. How does a woman explain to a policeman how rape happened? These are some of the things that we really have to ensure so that women feel comfortable when they go to police stations to report cases of rape and violence against them. They need to get the necessary support."
