    "content": "We know very well that we were successful in securing our independence because, as a people, we were united. Unity was our key weapon. Therefore, Hon. Members, we cannot and we are not turning back on uniting the country. We have chosen the hard road of building unity and cohesion against the easy road of division. We are a greater people for it. Already, the Building Bridges Initiative is engaging Kenyans across the entire length and breadth of our country and soon will have an opportunity to comment on its findings and recommendations. Against this backdrop, Hon. Speakers, I reaffirm a commitment previously made - which I hope this House will pass this year - of designating a Kshs10 billion Fund to heal the wounds of historical grievances which have long been poisoned by our politics and strained communal relations.
