    "content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to support Vote 12 of the Office of the Deputy Prime and Ministry of Local Government. I also want to thank Mr. Mudavadi, the Permanent Secretary, the Assistant Minister and his team for doing a good job. The Ministry of Local Government is key and under the new constitutional dispensation, it has a lot of work to do. It is mandated with re-organizing the devolved system of government that this new Constitution has put in place. At the same time, it is this Ministry that has the grassroot system in this country. We are talking about local councils and municipalities. The Minister for Finance should have given this Ministry more funding, particularly this year and next year, so that it can start the preparations for the devolved governments like the counties, regional assemblies and the others."
