Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, the Schedule to the Bill be amended in the proposed amendments to the Crops Act, No.16 of 2013― (a) in the proposed amendments to Section 9 by inserting the following new subsection immediately after the subsection (5)― “(6) In appointing members under paragraphs (e) and (f), the appointing authority shall take into consideration gender representation, ethnic diversity, youth and representation of persons with disability.” I do not have a problem with the amendment as proposed by the Committee save that I would want that for appointment to the board, there be consideration of gender, ethnic balance, and representation of youth and persons with disability as possible. That is all about my proposed amendment."
