    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, having said that, there are things that we must correct in the public domain. I saw some colleagues from the National Assembly talking about the mandate of this House and purporting that this House has no mandate to invite certain Cabinet Secretaries (CSs). Some CSs have taken that as the gospel truth. I have heard that some of the MPs are masquerading to be legal advisors determining the standard and mandate of this House. Let it be known to the public, CSs, and everybody in this nation that they cannot define the mandate of the Senate because it is already defined in the Constitution. Whereas our colleagues in the National Assembly were discussing the laws that this House can make, it is true that we are in a mediation process with them in more than five Bills. This is an acknowledgment of the fact that they respect the jurisdiction and mandate of this House."
