    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also stand in support of this Statement by the Chairperson of the Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights. I will be brief. I start by saying that whether we admit it or not, we have already taken the first baby steps back to the dark days of detention without trial. Therefore, it is up to us as leaders to put a stop to a movement in that direction. Mr. Speaker, Sir, it appears that there is a calculated move to intimidate and assassinate the characters, especially of leaders, that in one way or the other, do not seem to be in good books with law enforcement agencies. All of us have congratulated Sen. Malalah for the good work that he is doing for the people of Kakamega. The good Senator was on his way to preside over a function in Kakamega County which definitely would have given him political mileage.
