I rise to seek a Statement pursuant to Standing Order No.48(1) from the Standing Committee on Education, Information, Communication and Technology regarding the countrywide interdiction of teachers by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), for allegedly seeking information on the preparedness in rolling out the new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). In the statement the Committee should- (1) Explain the circumstances under which TSC interdicted and stopped the salaries of several teachers, including the following 12 teachers who are the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials from Kitui County.
