    "content": "Thank you Madam Temporary Speaker. I had the opportunity to meet with the group from Sierra Leone this morning, led by the Majority Leader and the Vice President of the Women Caucus. On the discussion about gender in Sierra Leone, they are benchmarking with the best practices we have in Kenya. I laud them for the work that they are doing. I came across something that I want to quote for them. When I worked in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on gender parity, I came across a lot of things. I want to read this quote to the Vice President because she sounded beaten by the idea of women losing their seats. A gentleman from Namibia, who was the Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gender Partnership Group said the following- “We believe that true equality between the sexes can only be achieved if both women and men pull forces together to break the barriers of age old belief that women and men have different roles to play and, therefore, have unequal stand in the society.” He finished by saying-"
