Senators, I wish to report to the Senate that pursuant to Standing Order No.43(3) and (4), I have received the following Message from the Speaker of Nandi County Assembly regarding the passage by the Assembly of a Motion requesting the Senate to consider formulating legislation requiring the national Government to share taxes that the national Government levies on tea with the tea growing counties and the national Government. “PURSUANT to Nandi County Assembly Standing Order No.42 (1), I hereby convey the following Message to the Senate. THAT on the 3rd of April, 2019 the County Assembly considered and passed a Motion on tea taxes requesting the Senate to consider formulating legislation to have tea taxes levied by the national Government shared among tea growing counties. THEREFORE through the provisions of the Standing Orders, I refer the Message to the Senate for consideration” Hon. Senators, Standing Order No.43(7) provides that- The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."
