    "content": "The pension budget has increased by over three fold in the last 10 years from Kshs25 billion in FY 2008/09 to Kshs86 billion in FY 2018/19. This is unsustainable. Between February and May 2019, we conducted a payroll cleansing exercise for pensioners and dependants at the Huduma Centres across the country to authenticate the approximately 270,000 recipients of monthly pension paid by the Government. We are finalising the analysis and we expect cost savings. Pension management is also being improved with migration to IFMIS since May 2019."
